Beverly J. Gaynor

Beverly “Bev” June Gaynor, 88, passed away peacefully at Oakleaf Village on Friday, June 7, 2024. She was born to F. Carlton and Grace (Klappich) Reynolds on May 15, 1936, in Elmore, OH. She graduated from DeVilbiss High school in 1954 and went on to the Toledo School of Nursing. Bev married James G. Gaynor in 1955. She was a homemaker most of her life, however she did work for a short time as a LPN at Toledo Hospital later in life. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, and Toledo Campus Ministry. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, crafting, especially with her grandkids and those she babysat for. She also enjoyed craft shows, cross-stitching, sewing handmade outfits and Halloween costumes for her grandkids, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles with her Oakleaf friends at the puzzle table, bible study groups, church events and babysitting. “You’ll never meet anyone that knows Bev that doesn’t love her.” She was the most sweet, warm, and loving mother, grandmother, and friend. “Gram” as she was called, was the truest example of a grandmother. Her grandchildren have endless fond memories of fun trips to Erie Islands, the 577 Foundation, Music Under the Stars, and many trips to neighborhood parks and local libraries. Bev is survived by her children, Jim (Jayne), Dan (Laurie); daughter-in-law, Lisa Gaynor; grandchildren, Lawren (Brian), Kylie (Ryan), Brooke (Chris), Jacob, Landon, and Lakyn; great-grandchildren, Elliana, Vince, James, and Holden. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; sister, MaryLou; daughter, Jennifer; and son, Michael. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Oakleaf Village staff and all the nurses and aides there, as well as Heartland Hospice, especially Ashley and Lisa, all her many and dear friends, Sister Claudia, Becky, Peggy, Barb, Linda and her church family. Friends and family are invited to visit Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 W. Sylvania Ave., where a brief memorial service will begin at 1:00pm officiated by Fr. Joe Keblesh from St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church per Bev’s wishes.
