Carol Ann Youngs

Carol Ann (Copeland) Youngs, 75, wife of 54 years to her high school sweetheart, William Edward Youngs, passed away on January 30, 2025, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Lexington, KY after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born April 9, 1949, in Lima, OH, she was the daughter of the late Mildred (Widney) Copeland and Richard Copeland. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Betsy and Adam Lowe, and two grandchildren that she adored, Ally and Brian. Although Carol did not have siblings by blood, her brother and sisters-in-law were like siblings and very close to her; Tom (Margaret) Youngs, Diana (Tom) Finkelmeier, Jim (Kathy) Youngs and Kathy (Steve) Kuhn. Also left to mourn her are several friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friend, Karen Zach. She was preceded in death by her son, Beau Youngs. Carol graduated from Celina Senior High School in 1967 as Valedictorian. She received her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Bowling Green State University summa cum laude, received her master’s degree from the University of Toledo and completed her doctorate degree from Fielding University. Carol devoted her life to teaching others. She was a passionate teacher and administrator in Washington Local Schools and Sylvania schools, tutored many students, including her nieces and nephews. As an administrator, she taught other teachers technology. Never able to retire completely, Carol then taught online classes for Grand Canyon University. Her passion for teaching continued by becoming an author of computer textbooks. After retirement, Carol enjoyed spending time in the Keys, spending time with her grandchildren, golfing, fishing in the UP and going to the Toledo Zoo with her son and grandchildren. Her family would like to thank the staff at Cedarhurst Senior Living and St. Joseph Medical Center for her compassionate and attentive end of life care. Visitation will be 4-8:00 PM on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 W. Sylvania Ave. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd., Toledo, Ohio.
