Dorothy Anna Wagoner, “Dotty”, age 82 of Toledo, OH, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 13, 2026, in her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born September 6, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA to Elmer and Anita Sturgeon. She is mother to Frank (Shelley), Ann (Chris Baty), and Dawn Nagy (Andy); mother-in-law to Kim Wagoner; sister to Anita Green, John, Carolyn Rosean, Joe, Theresa Britch, and Betty Davis; grandmother to Brittany Kim (Junyoung), Frank Wagoner Jr. (Julia), Liz Maniak (Josh), Ben Nagy (Hannah), Caleb Nagy, Madison Luna, Daniel Nagy, Jonathon Nagy, and Joseph Wagoner; great grandmother to, Victoria, Dominic and Leo Wagoner, Mateo Luna and Elliott Nagy; aunt and friend to many. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert Earl Wagoner (married June 5, 1968); youngest son, David; mother, Anita Sturgeon (Janssen); father, Elmer James Sturgeon; sisters, Rita and Mary; and brothers, James, Fred and Arthur. Dotty loved Jesus and trusted God’s Word, sharing her faith and encouragement with everyone she met. She adored her family and eagerly cared for their needs in every way she could. She was well known for her cooking, baking, and sewing, generously using her skills and artsy creativity to bless others. She finished her GED, sold Tupperware, worked as a seamstress and as a specialty baker. She attended Bedford Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School to preschool children and shared countless baked goods. She loved to collect antiques and art but freely gave items away if they caught someone’s eye. She brought joy and her contagious laughter to our hearts with her tireless enthusiasm for life and has greatly impacted many lives for eternity. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 The family would like to extend a special thank you to Care 360 Hospice. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 W. Sylvania Ave., from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. Memorial Service will be at the funeral home on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00am with Pastor Vince Flippo presiding. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery - Millbury, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Care 360 Hospice or Bedford Church of the Nazarene.
