Icia Linda Mummert

MUMMERT Icia Linda (Shearer) 1950 - 2007 Icia Linda (Shearer) Mummert, age 57, of Toledo (formerly of Coldwter, MI from 1994-2006), died Monday, July 30, 2007, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg after a long battle with breast cancer. Linda was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on January 7, 1950, to Iva L. (Beckman) and Glenn S. Shearer. The family moved to Toledo in 1955. Linda attended Start High School, Owens Community College and Kellogg Community College, becoming a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She married Thomas Allen Mummert of Toledo on December 17, 1966, in Monroe, Michigan. To this 38-year union were born three children, and although she worked several jobs over the years, her life was defined as a wife, mother and homemaker. A believer of The Gospel from an early age, Linda attended Toledo Baptist Temple, Faith Bible Baptist Church, Toledo; Calvary Baptist Church, Coldwater; Northview Christian Church, Coldwater, and Emmanuel Baptist Church, Toledo. A talented craftswoman, she enjoyed painting, quilting, ceramics, embroidery and cross-stitching. Linda had a keen interest in animals and nature. Her little silky terrier, Lacy was the joy of her life, particularly after the death of her husband, Thomas in 2005. Linda was also preceded in death by her son, Robert, and her parents. She is survived by two beloved children, Sherry (Mark) Plessner and Michael Mummert, both of Toledo; her loving siblings, Lois Shearer Steen of Toledo, Ray (Karen) Shearer of Toledo, Glenda (Jess Sanderson) Shearer of Norwalk, OH, Kenneth (Patricia) Shearer of Delta, OH, Joy (Rudolph) Fulgham of Easley, SC; a fond uncle, Edgar Beckman of Phoenix, AZ; caring in-laws, James (Vilma) Mummert of Sarasota, FL, Kathleen (Michael) Boscarino of Columbua, CT, Nancy (Kenneth) Lowe of Toledo, Dave (Carol) Hoobler of Toledo; devoted neighbors, Elly and Jack Robinson of Coldwater, MI and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends who will cherish her memory. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where services will be 11 a.m. Friday. Officiating will be Pastor Timothy F. Goodman from Faith Bible Baptist Church. Interment Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Any tributes may be made in the form of contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Susan G.
