BUCK Joseph A. Joseph A. Buck, 94, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2016, in Toledo surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 31, 1922, in Berkey, OH, the son of Perry and Anna Buck. Joe served honorably in the Army during WWII. He worked for Willys-Overland for 20 years in the Research Department. Joe was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Joe was a family man and loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed playing and watching golf, painting as an accomplished artist, traveling, spending time in Florida on the Gulf of Mexico during the winter, gardening and nature. He nurtured and raised a family of 4 baby robins with his daughter, Joyce. He loved playing competitive Scrabble with his son, Gary; son-in-law, Jacky Poupre and nephew, Jimmy Donovan. Joe was also proud of three of his daughters, Cheryl, Mary Jo and Joyce who were Chicago Playboy Bunnies. His daughter Debbie was his loving caregiver and constant companion for 10 years. All his children appreciated his love, wisdom, guidance and knowledge offered on a daily basis. Survivors include his first and only love, Mary Buck; children, Cheryl (Mark Hogan) McArthur, Gary (Renee Vining) Buck and his twin sister, Mary Jo Buck, Joyce (Jacky) Buck-Pourpre and Debbie (Don Podgor) Buck. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Donovan and brothers, “Bud” Buck and Bill Buck. Friends are invited to visit on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m., in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, (between Secor and Douglas Roads). Friends may also visit on Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until the funeral mass at 10 a.m., at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, (2240 Castlewood Drive at Bellevue Road). Monsignor Michael R. Billian will officiate. Interment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Humane Society or the Toledo Botanical Gardens.
