June Frances Kosolka

June Kosolka, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Regency Hospital following a courageous battle from bypass surgery on August 24. She was born on December 19, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio, to Frank John and Cecilia (Pomorski) Kosolka. June was a 1966 graduate of Woodward High School. Her employment career included working for a Toledo Judge, Ashland Manor Apartments,EJS (Schroeder Homes) Enterprises, Maumee Bulk Foods, the Toledo Lucas County Public Library and volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. She was a member of St. Adalbert's Parish. June was a loving daughter, friend, and the best sister in the world to Sue and will be dearly missed. June loved animals, especially her faithful dogs, Cookie, Laddie and Kody, feeding the birds, tending to flowers and the yard. June was very artistic, having inherited her Mother's talent. She enjoyed going to art and craft shows, festivals, antique shops and day tripping with her sister, Sue. Her favorite hobby was collecting political buttons and memorabilia, and animal figurines, especially elephants. She was an avid reader, a movie fan, especially westerns and science fiction. During the holidays June loved to bake. June battled many severe illnesses for a very long time, including Sarcoidosis, accepted them, never complained and fought them so bravely to the end. A special thank you is extended to her doctors who cared for her with kindness and compassion, Dr. James Teener, Dr. Arno Kumagai, and Dr. Thomas Gardner at the University of Michigan, Dr. Lois Nelson and Dr. Jay Nielsen, Toledo, The Toledo Hospital Oncology staff, especially Kelli, the St. Vincent's Infusion Dept. and Cindy Meyers. June is survived by her sister, Susan Kosolka, uncle, Bob Zielinski, many cousins and friends, especially Jayne and Jerry Pratt, Sue Daly, Richard Bonitati, Norm Janowiecki, Vivian Fisher and William Maloney. She was preceded in death by her parents, many aunts and uncles and several cousins. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, October 7, at the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 W. Sylvania Avenue (between Secor and Douglas Roads), where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Prayers will begin on Saturday at 9:15 a.m., from the funeral home followed by the funeral mass at 10 a.m., at St. Adalbert's Parish, 3233 Lagrange St. Toledo. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made, in June's memory, to the American Diabetes Association or an animal shelter of the donor's choice.
