Marion F. Jordan

Jordan Marion F. Marion F. Jordan, 76, passed away in St. Vincent's Mercy Medical Center on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 just 12 days shy of her 77th birthday. She was born on September 2, 1936 in Roxbury, Massachusetts. In her 40's after staying home to raise her five children Marion fulfilled her dream of going to school to become a nurse and continue with her life's calling to care for others. She was employed at St. Vincent's Hospital until her retirement in 1997. Throughout her life she loved to travel with her family and husband John. They enjoyed camping along the east coast and especially liked visiting Stone Harbor, NJ. She was a member of the “Good Sam” camping Club and visited over 30 states. She was a 50 year member at the former St. Agnes Parish and a current member at St. Catherine Church, she was a Eucharistic Minister and parish nurse at both. She enjoyed her BUNCO club and was a member of the Retried Nurses association at St. Vincent's, participated in the Lourdes University Eldervision and enjoyed her membership in the associates of the Ursuline Order. Her hobbies included reading and solving crossword puzzles. Marion was an avid baseball fan her two favorite teams being the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving family, husband of 56 years, John; 5 children: Nancy (Bob) Klever, Barb (Gary) Kesselmayer, John Jr. (Terry) Jordan, Joan (Dennis) Jolly, Jim (Christy) Jordan; 16 grandchildren: Michelle (Kevin) Kuhn, Dr. Rob (Cassy) Klever, Kathy (Mike) Woods, Laura Klever; Patrick Kesselmayer, Mathew (Stephanie) Kesselmayer, Kim Kesselmayer, Adam Kesselmayer; Jack Jordan, Ben Jordan, Sam Jordan; Andrew Kesselmayer, Katie Kesselmayer; Taylor Jordan, Connor Jordan and Emily Jordan; 2 great-grandchildren: Matteson Kuhn and Grant Woods. Her family wishes to extend special thanks to the Neuro ICU at St. Vincent's for the excellent care that she received. Friends are invited to visit from 2:00-8:00PM on Friday August 23, 2013 in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave. where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM. Friends may also visit after 9:00AM on Saturday in St. Catherine's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00AM. Interment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those wishing to give memorials in lieu of flowers are asked to consider American Diabetes Association, Ursuline Sisters of the Sacred Heart, and St. Catherine's Parish Nurse Program.
