Marlene McCormack

Marlene McCormack, age 77, of Toledo passed away on Monday December 10, 2012 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 18, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio to Frank and Sophia Komosinski. Marlene married George McCormack May 12, 1952 after being high school sweethearts. She was employed at St. Vincent's Hospital for 30 years, she then retired with her husband George to Florida for 10 years, they then returned to Toledo to be close to their family. In her spare time she loved gardening, shopping, playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marlene had a very strong devotion to her family and her Catholic faith. Marlene attended St. Adalbert's school as a child and graduated from Woodward High School. She was raised as a member of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, and was more recently a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church in Point Place. Marlene is survived by her husband, George; daughters, Shari McCormack (Greg Norman) of Yakima, Washington and Deborah (Greg) Schaefer of Toledo, OH; sons, Mike (Deb) McCormack of Toledo, OH, James (Sharon) McCormack of Venice, FL, George P. (Lou Ann) McCormack of Jackson, MI, John F. (Christine Curtis) McCormack of Sylvania, OH; 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sophia Komosinski, her brother and his wife Joseph and Marge Komosinski; sister, Martha Wawrzyniak; nephew, Joe Wawrzyniak; niece, Sister Rebecca Komosinski; daughter, Mary McCormack and granddaughter, Shannon McCormack. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Office of Aging of Toledo Ohio and to Patty, Linda and Nicole of Heartland Hospice Care for their compassion and guidance on the care of Marlene. Also a great thank you to the Alzheimer's Association for their support. A special thank you to her caregiver Sally. Friends are invited to visit from 2:00 to 8:00pm Friday at the Ansberg-West Funeral Home 3000 Sylvania Avenue where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10:00am Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church, where the family will receive friends in the narthex after 9:00am.
