Raymond E. Wall

WALL Raymond Edward Jr. Raymond Edward Wall Jr. passed away at Kingston Residence on June 20, 2013, with his family by his side at age 86. He was born July 22, 1926, to Clara and Raymond Wall Sr. in Toledo Ohio. Ray attended Central Catholic High School and then joined the Navy in 1943 and served in World War ll. Upon coming home he met the love of his life Ellen Savage at a CYO dance. They have been together ever since and enjoyed 64 years of marriage. Ray embraced his marriage to Ellen along with the Savage family. His best friend Bill Etzel married his sister Julie and the two families shared a lifetime of memories together. Ray recently lost Ellen only 5 months ago. He was deeply sadden by his loss and longed to be by her side. Ray had a love for enjoying life. He was often found dancing or singing to his favorite big band music. Ray and Ellen were blessed with so many friends and family. Ray made lifelong friends which included the Mystic nights of the sea, a group of friends that enjoyed poker games together on the first Friday of every month without fail for over 60 years. Rays sense of humor and compassion remained intact his last couple years where he continued to touch people's lives at Kingston residence. Ray worked for Willy's Overland after the Navy. He then started his retail career with Buckeye Specialties and then retired with Food Town. Ray enjoyed his retail career but his hard work was driven by the love and support he provided to his family. He is survived by his daughter, Beth (Dr. Kris) Brickman; sons, Tim and Kevin Wall; grandchildren, who referred to him as “Babap” are Kelsey, Kendall, Cameron, and Cory Brickman, Mackenzie, Parker, Madison, Kennedy, Tanner, and Cooper Wall; sister, Julie Etzel. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Ellen Wall. Ray's family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Kingston Residence of Sylvania and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for love, compassion, and excellent care that he received. Visitation will be held Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Ansberg West funeral home 3000 West Sylvania Ave., Toledo, OH. Mass and Christian burial will be held Saturday 11:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church 4100 Harvest lane Toledo, OH. Burial to follow at Ottawa hills cemetery. The family suggests contributions to be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio and Christ the King Church.
