Robert Ramirez Sr.

Robert Ramirez Sr., 90, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020. He was born June 7, 1930, in Houston, TX and was the son of Gilbert and Inez (Martinez) Ramirez. Robert served honorably in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for AP Parts where he retired in 1984, after 30 years. Robert married Maria Padilla on June 26, 1965 in Toledo, OH. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church. Robert enjoyed going to the casino, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, traveling and bowling, in which he excelled. He also enjoyed watching Ohio State football and Cleveland Browns. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Maria Ramirez; children, Angela Meehling, Frank (Sharon) Ramirez, Dianna Ramirez (Mike), Alma Fesh and Robert Ramirez Jr.; grandchildren, Desiree (Jamie) Wright, Matthew (Katherine) Ramirez, Jose Cumpian Jr., Justin Robert Cumpian, Christin (Justin) Skiba, Jena Menchaca, Nicholas Fesh, Chelsea Menchaca, Jordan Fesh, Alejandro Ramirez and Andres Ramirez; great grandchildren, Alecia Martinez, Kenzie Ramirez, Destiny Dalton, Isabelle Remley, Rachel Remley, Logan Cumpian, Ava Wright, Ainsley Wright, Teagan Skiba and Kora Ramirez and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, Paul Ramirez, Basilio Ramirez and Joseph (Maria) Ramirez; sisters, Carmen Garcia, Nieves (Edward) Rangel and Janie Castillio. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Linda Martinez; brothers, Salvador Ramirez and Gilbert Ramirez; son-in-law, JC Meehling and his first wife, Anna (Garcia) Ramirez. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, November 1, 2020, from 2-6 p.m., at the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, (between Secor and Douglas Roads). Due to COVID-19 regulations, social distancing and facial coverings will be required. Visitation will also be held on Monday, November 2, 2020, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, (4555 N. Haven Avenue.), from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, where Lambertville VFW Post 9656 will conduct Military Honors. Memorial Contributions may be made to ProMedica Hospice or St. Catherine of Siena Church.
