Ronald E. Davis

Ronald Ellis "Inky" Davis, 73, of Middleton Township, died Saturday, July 21, 2007, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Ronald was born May 13, 1934 to Roy and Wilma (Meisler) Davis. He attended Oakdale Elementary School and graduated from Waite High School in 1952. After two years of service in the U. S. Army, Ron attended the University of Toledo where he obtained a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. In 1956, he married Patricia Polster. He was employed by Peirce Construction Company where he served as comptroller. He later became part owner of the company and served in that capacity until its divestment in 1984. Ron was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish for 25 years where all of his children attended school. He currently was a member of St. Aloysius Parish in Bowling Green for 12 years. During his retirement years, Ron enjoyed outdoor activities with his wife, working around his home, and attending sporting events, particularly following his beloved Detroit Red Wings. Above all, Ron will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather whose greatest joy was spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Patricia; seven children, Mary (Tom) Dunn, Kate Meyer, Ron (Sally) Davis, Shelia (Marty) Swiergosz, Barb (Ted) Martin, Brenda (Chris) Walker, Nancy (Paul) Swiergosz; two sisters, Bonnie (Howard) Love, and Shirley (Ed) Karcher; The joy of his life were his 24 grandchildren, Katie, Nick, Tom, Mollie and Maggie Dunn; Joe, Christine and Allison Meyer; Zach, Emily and Jake Davis; Meghann, Andy, Lauren and Adam Swiergosz; Teddy and Ryan Martin; Casey, Christopher, Jackie and Gabby Walker; Paul, Meredith and Carolyn Swiergosz. He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law Jim Meyer.? Friends are invited to visit from 2-8PM Wednesday, July 25, 2007 in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave. where prayer services will held at 7:00PM. Prayers will begin at 9:15 AM Thursday, from the funeral home, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Catherine of Sienna Church. Interment will be in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Catherine of Sienna Building Fund or the Cherry Street Mission.
