Our beloved mother passed away Friday, May 13th. Agnes was born in Britton, Michigan July 7, 1922. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Stephen, in 2003. They were married 54 years. During her life she saw many changes. She worked as a sealer at the Save-a-Electric light bulb company during the 40's, in the 60's and 70's at Mason's Dept. Store. In the 60's she met John F. Kennedy and shook his hand, also during the World Cup Wrestling Championships in 64 and 66 Agnes was an interpreter for the Russians and some of the Czech team members. A fantastic chef and baker her dinners and pastries were enjoyed by all. One of her many hidden talents, she was an excellent artist, fantastic at math and in her youth gymnastics. Proud of her Czech heritage she and her husband enjoyed Polka dancing, also holidays in Florida, and bowling. What she loved most was her family and her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. She was a past member of the Columbiettes, St Francis Guild and the Altar Rosary Society. Agnes has been a member of Regina Coeli Parish since 1956, prior to that at Holy Rosary Church. Preceded in death by her parents Joseph, Anna (Holubik) Pinkava, sisters, Mary Pinkava, Lois Reilly, brothers, Joseph and infant Stanislaus Pinkava. Survivors include her children, Greg (Joyce) Vasko and Carol (Mark) Bowman, grandchildren, Aaron Vasko, Anthony (Kami) Vasko, Allison Odenweller and Stephen Howell, great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Drew, Kendra, Karyssa, Mykenna and 3 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren. Also brothers Stan (with whom she shared a special bond), Jerry and Frank Pinkava. Family is invited to visit from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, in Regina Coeli Church. Father James Auth will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity. MAY YOUR HEART TAKE FLIGHT WITH PEACE AND LOVE.
