Alice V. Szymanski

March 28, 1924 - March 10, 2016

Alice Virginia Szymanski, 91, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, with her family at her bedside. She was born March 28, 1924, in Toledo and was the daughter of Walter and Mary Wilczynski. Alice was married to Felix J. Szymanski, who preceded her in death in 1986. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, International Sorority, a women’s service organization. Alice was also a long-time member of Christ the King Church, where she volunteered through baking, cooking, festival work and other parish activities. In her younger days, she enjoyed horseback riding, roller skating and bicycling. Alice is survived by children, Marcia Szemansco-Russell, Halfmoon, NY and Duane Szymanski, Dublin, OH; grandchildren, Erin Szymanski, Christine Szymanski, Kristin (Mark Howl) Szemansco, Sarah (Dan) Kidd, Jonathan Szemansco, and Amanda (Robert) Hall and her great-grandchild, Maxton Hall. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Wilczynski. Friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, March 15th, from 3-8 p.m., in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania avenue, (between Secor and Douglas Roads), where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friends may also visit on Wednesday, March 16th, from 9 a.m. until the funeral mass at 10 a.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association. Thank you to Heartland of Perrysburg nursing staff and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care. Alice cherished every moment with her family. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and recently reveled in being a great-grandmother to Maxton. "May Jesus keep His arms around you", was always mom’s goodbye wish to everyone.
