He proudly served his country during WW II. Charles was a member of the Weller VFW Post #135. Following the war he returned home and began working as a painter and decorator until his retirement. His last job was at the Lucas County Court House. Charles continued to practice his trade and pass along his knowledge to his children and grandchildren. He remained a member of Painters Local #7 until his death. Charles enjoyed travelling, boating, fishing, and working on his vegetable garden. But he mostly enjoyed the family gatherings. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Charles R. Watt, granddaughters, Katrina Watt, Robin Grindle and grandson, Michael Ouellette, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Friends are invited to visit from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Prayers will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, from the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 11 a.m., in Blessed Sacrament Church. Military services will follow, conducted by the Lambertville VFW. Memorial contributions may be made to ProMedica Hospice or Blessed Sacrament Building Fund.
