Chester Bill Calhoun

Loving father, grandfather, uncle, friend. Chester “Bill” Calhoun of Toledo, went home to be with the Lord on June 6, 2010. Bill was born on November 19, 1922 in Toledo. He served in World War II with the U.S. Army, 832nd Artillery in California, he was a corporal with the infantry. He worked for Columbia Gas of Ohio, retiring in 1983, after 30 years of service. He enjoyed playing the harmonica and keyboard and spending time with his Jack Russell, Misty. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ella Calhoun; his loving wife, Jacqueline; sisters, Martha Baker, Dorthy Basinger, Alice Fuller; brothers, James and Robert; and great-grandson, Jacob Tyler Johns. Survivors include his loving daughter, Susie Calhoun Meyer; loving brother, Ronnie; loving son, Steve (Jenny) James and children, Jordan, Michael, Blaze, Mercedez, and MaKayla; loving granddaughter, Stephanie (Kenny) Costet and children, Christian, Alexis, Alyssa, Andrea, and Kadin; loving granddaughter, Nelia (Marcus) Driver of Florida and children Mariah and Damien; loving friend, Jeff Needham and family as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Bill will be missed by all who knew him. Friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, June 9 from 1 pm until 8 pm at the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave. where services will be held on Thursday at 11 am with Rev. Robert L Wuellner officiating. Interment following at Woodlawn Cemetery. Daddy and PaPaw, go rest on that high mountain! Your work on earth is done! Grandpa, I love you and I will miss you and will think of you everyday. Missy said she loves you too. I will remember everything we ever did together for the rest of my life.
