Clifford W. Lafayette Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Clifford W. Lafayette, 77, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 in the Toledo Hospital. He was born in Toledo on April 3, 1935 to Stella and Clifford D.Lafayette. Cliff was a graduate of Macomber High School class of 1954, and the University of Toledo, college of engineering class of 1959. He served his country honorably in the Army National Guard from 1959-1963. Prior to his retirement in 1997, he was employed by Surface Combustion and Chrysler Jeep Corporations. He was an avid fisherman, duck hunter, and enjoyed metal detecting. He was involved in Indian Guides with his sons. Cliff was an enthusiastic Classic Car show fan, loved bowling at Twin Oaks Bowling Lanes and particularly loved his "Untouchables" bowling team. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and ukulele. He will be remembered as a very patient and forgiving man. His priorities included his very close family, loving wife of 53 years, Barbara; children, Susan (Mark) Kershner, William M. Lafayette, and Robert W. Lafayette. Special grandchildren, Stephanie, Tim, Megan, Nicholas, CJ, and great-grandson Evan will all miss their "Poppy". Cliff's family wishes to extend special thanks to the staffs and caretakers at the Toledo Hospital and Promedica for the excellent care that he received. Friends are invited to visit from 3:00-8:00PM on Thursday, December 20, 2012 in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave. where funeral services will begin on Friday at 1:00PM.
