David Keith Michael, 84, passed away on Sunday March 28, 2010 in Toledo at the St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born on September 7, 1925 to David and Freda Michael in Brookville Pennsylvania. David Keith served his country honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He and his wife Marianne were married in on May 3, 1952 in Niagara Falls New York. He was a graduate of the University of Buffalo School of Engineering. He moved to Toledo in 1956 to assist in the opening of the new Chevrolet Plant on Alexis Rd. and remained there until his retirement in 1984. David Keith was an avid boater and enjoyed working on his boat and spending time on Lake Erie. He also enjoyed wood working, gardening, and especially the many good times he shared with his cherished family. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marianne; children, David B. (Robin) Michael, Tish Poe, Karen (Roy) Michael, Richard Michael, Kathy Athanas, Susan Michael, Judy (James) Lawson; 12 granchildren,4 great grandchildren; and brother Derry (Barbara) Michael. He was preceded in death by his son Thomas Michael, and Brother Gary Carrier. His family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at the Elmwood Assisted Living in Green Springs Ohio for their excellent care. Friends are invited to gather from 1:00-3:00PM on Thursday, April 1, 2010 in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave. Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that memorial contributions be directed to the Sunshine Children's Home.
