Donald G. Leonhardt, 92, of Bradenton, Florida and Sylvania, Ohio passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home he married the love of his life, “Petey”. Don was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. He loved golfing, fishing, sports of all kinds, vacationing, playing Bridge and Euchre. He was known for his witty sense of humor and would light up a room when he arrived, all who knew him loved him. He loved spending time with his and friends and family most of all. Don is survived by his children, Evamarie, Sue, Karen and Mike; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Eva Leonhardt, wife, Laray “Pete” and his brothers and sisters. He was the last of the good ones. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10:30am Thursday at St. Catherine Church, 4555 North Haven, where friends are invited to visit after 10:00am. Private interment in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Catherine Church.
