Frank R. Beyer, 87, passed away May 24, 2017 at Heartland of Waterville. He was born February 11, 1930 to Fred and Elfriede Beyer in Toledo. He honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Frank worked at the family business, the Fred Beyer Bakery on Lagrange Street until it closed in 1965. He then joined the U.S. Postal Service at Station A in Toledo, where he worked for 27 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the NALC Local 100. Frank was a former member of First United Church of Christ, at Cherry and Moore Street until it’s closing in 2003. Those left to mourn his passing are his sisters, Marilyn Zak of Toledo and Betty Bernhoft of Queensbury, NY; nephews, David (Cindy) Zak, Steven (Diana) Gretzinger, Kevin (Stephanie) Shaw; nieces, Susan (Pete Emahiser) Seiler and Carrie Shaw; 8 grand nieces and nephews and longtime companion, Mary Thomas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Beyer in 1990 and brothers in law, Richard Zak and Robert Bernhoft. Friends are invited to visit after 10:00am Saturday at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue where services will commence at 12:00pm. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
