Frank P. Korvas

Frank P. Korvas passed away peacefully at the age of 90, on August 31, 2008, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born to Eva and Frank Korvas on January 5, 1918. Frank had a forty year career in manufacturing at the Dura Corporation. Frank was a life-long resident of Toledo and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Frank was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Walter Weller American Legion Post #135. Anyone who knew Frank knew he was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. His yard and flowers filled his days with joy up until time of death. Equal to his love of the outdoors was his love of music and dance, as he was an active member of the Czechoslovakian Dance Club until his death. He married Elizabeth Fojtik in June of 1942. They were married for over sixty years before she preceded him in death on October 5, 2002. He is survived by his daughters, Donna Kohli and husband Bob, Lima, OH, Jean Sholar and husband Joe, Flint, MI, and sons, Ronald and wife Carol, Salem, OR and Thomas and wife Christine, Athens, OH. Frank is also survived by four grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. The family wishes to acknowledge special friends, Alice Okenka and Doctor Nancy Stadler for their unending support of their father. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, at the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church.
