Grace E. Irwin

Grace E. Irwin, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday June 5, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Grace was born on September 29, 1915, in Morenci, MI, to Alice and Floyd Donley. Grace was a devoted stay at home mother, who always enjoyed attending many of the activities of her children and grandchildren. Grace always loved to be on the go, she was a member of the Kay C-etts, the Altar-Rosary Society at Blessed Sacrament and later she participated in the Over Fifty Group at Christ the King. She also did volunteer work for Heartbeat of Toledo, by crocheting blankets for new born babies. She was known for her sharp wit and easy going way. She loved to read and knit and was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed bird watching and collecting wild flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Harrison. Grace is survived by her daughters, Judith (Dick) Farrar and Mary Jo (Bob) McCullough; son, John (Joyce) Irwin; sister, Celeta Camburn; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 2-8 p.m. Monday, in the Ansberg-West Funeral, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where a scripture service will be at 7 p.m. Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, from the funeral home, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., in Christ the King Catholic Church. Father William J. Rose will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartbeat of Toledo or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the entire nursing staff at Level 1 and 2 at Elizabeth Scott Community and to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
