Helen Dmytryka of Toledo, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Sunset Village in Sylvania, Ohio. She was born in Toledo to Troy and Stella Pratt. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School and Davis Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper and executive secretary retiring from Champion Spark Plug, and was a member of the Champion Quarter Century and Retiree Club. She was an avid photographer and loved to travel. Over her lifetime, she traveled through all 50 states and most of Canada. She also traveled extensively throughout Europe and Australia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Stanley Dmytryka. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Whitmore (David Saalfeld) of Ottawa Lake, MI and Nancy (Jeffry) Csubak of Parrish, FL; her sister, Mariam Turner; 6 grandchildren, (2 human, Lauren and Andrew; 2 canine, Maya and Jersey; and 2 feline, Bailey and Tigger) as well as a number of nieces And nephews. Visitation will be private. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Toledo Memorial Park (please meet in the parking lot at the front of the cemetery). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Employee Appreciation Fund at Sunset Village or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Helen was a fiercely private, independent lady and the family would like to thank the staff of Sunset Village and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for supporting her to be Helen until the end. They are grateful for the years of compassionate and loving care that she received.
