SPANGLER Jack Russell Jack R. Spangler, 88, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014, He was born March 14, 1926, to Elwood and Rena Spangler. Jack served honorably in the Navy during WWII. He worked for Columbia Gas, retiring in 1988. Jack was an avid hunter and loved to fish. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jean (Dawson) Spangler; children, Janet (Mike) Bittle, June Long, Jackie (Robert) Henning, James (Robin) Spangler and John Spangler; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Judy Hall and Joy Fox; granddaughter, Christine Bittle and son-in-law, Larry Long. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many. Friends are invited to visit from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, (between Secor and Douglas Roads), where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.ansberg-west.com
