James P. Byers

? James P. Byers, PhD, 46, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 27, 2007, at The Toledo Hospital. He was born June 13, 1961, in Havre De Grace, Maryland. Jim received his degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland. He received his Masters and PhD, from the University of Toledo. Jim was a member of Gesu Church, served on the Faculty Senate at the University of Toledo and was a member of professional associations. He was a professor at the University of Toledo, in the College of Pharmacy, for the past eight years. Jim enjoyed coaching his son John's, CYO soccer team and one of his most joyful days was the day his daughter, Sarah, was born. He also enjoyed playing fetch with his dog, Lizzie. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Lisa Byers; children, Sarah Byers and John Byers; his parents, William "Phil" and Genevieve Byers. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathryn (Bob) Sullivan, Pamela (Michael) Buhidar, Susan (Andy) Kochenderfer and Jennifer (Bill) Simone; brothers, John (Katie) Byers, David (Lynn) Byers, William "Billy" (Michelle) Byers and Michael (Janine) Byers and 23 nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Angela Byers and nephew, David Buhidar. Friends are invited to visit from 2-8 p.m. Monday in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, (between Douglas and Secor Roads). Prayers will begin from the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. , in Gesu Church. Father James Cryan will officiate. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Sarah and John Byers Education Fund, c/o Lisa Byers. .?
