James Howell Tice, 83, passed away at his home on September 1, 2012. He was born December 12, 1928 and served as a Toledo Police Officer from 1953-1959. He left the force to open a Public Accounting practice which he continued for over 50 years. For many years he was the Treasurer of the West Toledo Rotary Club where he enjoyed his association with other professionals. He loved jazz music and played the tenor saxophone in a jazz band. He had a great love of animals, especially his beloved dog Zoey. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Howell and Leota Tice and his grandson Nicholas Tice. Left to cherish Jim's memory is his wife of 63 years Eileen (Dirkman) Tice; daughter Pamela (Patrick) Schoen; son Michael (Mary Beth) Tice; granddaughter Cory (Nick) Miller; grandsons Paul Schoen and Todd (Anne) Schoen; granddaugher-in-law Nicki Tice; and great-grandchildren Kyden, Kamdyn, Kazen Miller; Mason, Vivian, Marshall Schoen; Ava Tice. Family and friends may visit Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm with a funeral service at 7:00 pm.
