July 10, 1949 - May 20, 2012
Keeling Lowell L. “Lyhnn” Lyhnn Keeling, 62, passed away May 20, 2012 after a valiant battle with the long term effects of Juvenile Diabetes with his beloved wife Esther at his side. He was born in Toledo on July 10, 1949 to Johnnie and Mark Keeling. He graduated form Rogers High School in 1967. In 1980 Lyhnn graduated from Owens Tech School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. He was proud of his profession and devoted to it. Lyhnn mainly worked with chemical dependence and psychiatric patients. He used both his profession and his membership in AA to help guide many on their road to sobriety. Lyhnn worked at Tennyson Center, Mercy and Promedica facilities until he had to retire on disability. He had many hobbies and was a history buff whose interests included the Civil War and World War Two. He loved to read mystery, fantasy, and science fiction. He was an avid builder of models and dioramas and was an enthusiastic gardener. He and Esther enjoyed many happy hours together in their yard. Lyhnn will best be remembered for his dry, irreverent wit and highly infectious laugh. He leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, Esther (Cousino) Keeling, sisters and brothers-in-laws and many friends. Special thanks are extended to the numerous caregivers who treated Lyhnn and all who rose to the challenge of providing him with expert and compassionate care especially the staff at Heartland of Waterville and Senior Independence Hospice. A celebration of Lyhnn's life will be held on Friday May 25, 2012 at the La Scola restaurant, 5355 Airport Hwy from 4:00-6:30pm where family and friends are invited to share their memories. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider American Diabetes Association, Senior Independence Hospice, or the charity of the donor's choice.
