Mark was taken unexpectedly from this earth to heaven above on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. Mark was born to Lawrence O. Durham Jr. and Frances Frey. Mark graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1974. This is where he met the love of his life and wife of 28 years, Eileen (Pedro) Durham. After graduation from high school, Mark went to Miami University of Ohio. He then went on to serve honorably in the United States Marine Corp. Following his service in the Marines he moved to California to join the State Highway Patrol. He then moved back to Toledo and was employed by City of Toledo Water Department, as a foreman. Mark was inducted into the Central Catholic High School Athletic Hall of Fame (1972 Football Team), in 2005. Mark lived a life of fun and adventure. He was and avid golfer, making his first "hole-in-one", just weeks ago. Mark had many hobbies which included vacationing, tailgating at Central Catholic football games, watching football and playing scratch off lottery tickets. He loved his food, his catering business and cooking for people. Mark had a heart of gold and would put anyone in front of himself, and do anything he could to help. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Local 2058 and was involved with the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Mark will be greatly missed by his family and many, many friends. His love and generosity will continue to grow through his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence O. Durham Jr. Mark is survived by his wife, Eileen; children, Bridget (Joe) Findlay, Ben and Bo; grandchildren, Tyler, Gage, Dominic and Kylie. He is also survived by his mother, Frances Borysiak; brothers, Terry, Gary (Bev), Pat, Tim (Marsha), Todd and Steven (Tammy) Borysiak; sisters, Connie (Ron) Pribe and Angela (Lee) Monday; mother-in-law, Mary L. Pedro; brother and sister-in-laws, Mary (Dave) Bain, Ann Barash, Sonny Pedro, John (Laura) Pedro, Patricia (Mike) Carmean, Jim (Sue) Pedro, Tim (Karen) Pedro, Marty (Lynn) Pedro, Maggie (Craig) Schotter and Colleen (Ed) Taylor and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to visit from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, (between Secor and Douglas Roads), where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. followed by the Rosary, which will be recited by the Knights of Columbus. Prayers will begin at 10:15 a.m. Monday, from the funeral home, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Church. Reverend P. Martin Donnelly will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with the Lucas County Burial conducting their services. Contributions, in Mark's memory, may be made to the American Heart Association, Scleroderma Foundation or the donor's choice.
