Myra Louise Murphy Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Myra Louise “Sue” Murphy, 82, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Toledo Hospital. Born in Pontiac, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Walter August and Myra Eva (Gedert) Livo. Sue was a long time resident of Toledo where she lived since moving here from Dearborn, Michigan in 1955 to marry her loving husband of 59 years, James Arthur Murphy. She graduated from St. Alphonsus High School in Dearborn in 1950. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Toledo for over 50 years and her faith in God was unwavering. Sue worked several jobs over the course of her life, but she treasured most her role as homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a devoted mother who taught her children and grandchildren the importance of faith, giving and unconditional love. Her greatest joy was her family and nothing meant more to her than spending time with them. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild and enjoyed attending their school, sporting, dance and theatrical events. Sue also enjoyed bingo and organized her neighborhood garage sale for many years. She was the heart of our family and while we will miss her more than words can express, we will treasure her memory, love her forever and keep her always in our hearts. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her five children, Deborah (Thomas) Emerson, Pamela (David) Simrell, Steven (Lisa) Murphy, Teri (William) Bonnett, Michael (Julie) Murphy, grandchildren Andre Waller, Brooke Simrell, Liza Simrell, Shawn Bonnett, Chelsea Price, Michael Bonnett, Christopher Bonnett, Diana Emerson, Jordan Bensch, Tyler Murphy, Mikayla Murphy and Tommy Emerson, great-granddaughter Adalyn Johnson, sisters Patricia Livo, Judith (Dennis) Sutton and Anne Marie Livo, brother Robert Livo, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Richard Livo and sisters, Joanne Livo and Rosemary Livo. The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2 PM until 6 PM at the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited. The funeral service will be on Monday at 10 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church. The burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
