Pamela Jo Mathias

January 12, 1949 - May 31, 2016

Pamela Jo Mathias won many battles along the way, but lost her final battle with cancer on May 31, 2016. Born on January 12, 1949 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Pam was a strong, independent, and well liked lady who was not afraid to speak her mind. She took pride in her appearance and kept QVC and the Home Shopping Network busy. Having owned several taverns, Pam knew no stranger, could talk to anyone, and was the life of the party. She enjoyed Las Vegas, NV and The Villages, FL and was adventurous to make friends wherever she went. Pam's first thought was family before herself and she loved all of the children as if they were her own including her great nieces and nephews Ryan, Alyssa, Zack, Ian, and Emily and her great grandchildren Colton and Meliah "Jo". She was the matriarch of her family and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter Lisa (Debby) Mathias Griffin, her son Joe (Crystal) Mathias, sisters Vicki (Dan) Reno & Linda (Rick) Momenee, sister-in-law Diann Mathias, nephews David Drake & Michael (Jenny) Momenee, neices Ricki (Paul) Bowman, Dawn (Doug) Wiggins, & Stephanie (Ben) Fisher, and her grandchildren Denielle (Scott) Nicholson Jarrell, Derek Nicholson, Andrew Mathias, and Jack Mathias. No formal service will be held, but coffee and donuts are planned from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 10th at the Mayberry Apartments at 8160 Sunset Lane in Sylvania, Ohio. In addition, an informal toast to celebrate Pam's life will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11th at the A & O Sweetshop Tavern at 1734 High Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a contribution to the Promedica Ebeid Hospice Residence at 5340 Harroun Rd, Sylvania, OH 43560.Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ansberg-West Funeral Directors, 419-472-7633.
