Richard V. Buchele

February 24, 1929 - February 18, 2018

Richard V. Buchele, 88, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Kingston Care Center in Sylvania. He was born in Toledo on February 24, 1929 to Richard and Ruth Buchele. He was a 1947 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He went to work for his father at Buckley Sign Company where he specialized in creating intricate neon signs. He then went to trade school to become a tool and die maker. He worked at Anderson Tool and Die Company for a number of years. He was a tool and die maker at Sharon Manufacturing Company until retiring. Richard loved to travel, loved to take pictures (especially of flowers), and enjoyed working around the house and on cars. He had a knack for fixing things. He also helped with numerous science fair projects for his kids throughout the years. Richard had a good group of friends from his elementary days and they stayed together to form a Supper Club that met once a month. He loved to stay up late and felt that mornings began at noon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elinor, six years ago. He is survived by his sister Joan (Gerald) Daggett; children David (Lisa Abrams) Buchele, Ann Buchele, Barb (Bob) O’Donnell, and son Jim (Juliann) Buchele; grandchildren Justene, Adam, Trevor, Kevin, Maggie, Amelia, and Christopher. Richard’s family wishes to extend special thanks to all the staff at Kingston Care Center in Sylvania and Ohio Living Hospice. Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 4-8 PM at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave. Visitation will also begin at 9:30 AM on Friday at St. Catherine of Siena Church where the Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 10:00 AM.
