Robert L. Blessing

Bob passed away July 15th, at the Elmwood Healthcare facility in Green Springs, Ohio, where he had been a resident for the past 23 years. He was the son of the late Richard Blessing of Toledo, Ohio, and the late LaVerne Baker, formerly of Toledo and Fairhope, Alabama. Bob was born on November 6, 1945 and grew up in Sylvania, Ohio. After graduating from Sylvania High School, he joined the U. S. Marine Corps and served in Viet Nam. He was honorably discharged, and then resided in Houston, Texas, where he was later involved in an automobile accident that eventually led him to his home in Green Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathryn. Surviving are his daughter, Lisa (Dave) Fast; granddaughters Riley and Bailey Fast; sisters Carol (Bob) TenBrook of Union Hall, Virginia; Kathleen (Mike) Bendert of Madisonville, Tennessee, and Patricia (Rick) Wilcox of Homosassa, Florida. His family would like to sincerely thank the loving and caring staff at Elmwood for making Bob a part of their family, and for the wonderful care he received there. A memorial service will be held in Green Springs, OH, in August. A notice will run in the paper prior to the service.
