Sandra L. Sanderson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sandra L. (Johnson) Sanderson passed away unexpectedly, Friday May 13, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 25, 1936 to Ivan and Gwendolyn (Saddlemeyer) Johnson in Eau Clair, Wisconsin. She moved to Opportunity, WA when she was 5 years old. Sandy was an “Air Force bride” to James Sanderson of Toledo. They were married June 13, 1953 in Spokane, WA and enjoyed 60 years of marriage together prior to his death April 10, 2014. They moved to Toledo in 1955 to raise their 5 children. Sandy was a stay-at-home wife and mother involved in PTA, Mother’s Club, Indian Guides and Girl Scouts. She enjoyed spending time at their lake home and camping across the USA. She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching old movies and spending time with family. Sandy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Faye Parrot, Nicolle Johnson and her grandson, James Ketcham. Sandy is survived by her 5 children, Michael J. (Rita) Sanderson, Wanda (Larry) Tibai, Douglas (Kris) Sanderson, Daniel (Michele) Sanderson, Beth (Alfred) Lee; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Friends are invited to visit from 3:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where services will be held 1:00pm Thursday. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Association.
