Shelby Jean (Harper) Clausius of Toledo, Ohio formerly of Largo, Florida – Shelby Jean Clausius, 81 died Sunday, March 25th, 2018 at Tidewell Hospice House in Sarasota, Florida. She was born to the late George and Irene Harper of Paducah, Kentucky. On March 16th Shelby and Harry Clausius were wed and were married for 51 years. Their passion was to work to enjoy a great vacation. They embraced going to new places like China, Hawaii, and loved taking cruises. Harry passed away on December 3, 2008. Shelby left this world as a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandma and Great Grandma. She worked for Foodtown early in her life. Her crafts kept her busy with making and selling them. Shelby was a housewife, Toledo Craftsman Guild member, and an American Greetings employee. Shelby Clausius’ family survivors include Pam (Tim) Meinert, Jeff (Heidi) Clausius and Lynette (Ron) Riehle; brother Lester (Dot) Harper. Her 7 grandchildren: Amanda (Brad) Andrews, Jamie Meinert, Allison and Max Clausius, Nathan (Lynnette), Evan and Benjamin Darrach. Along with 5 great-grandchildren: Carter and Devin Andrews, Gavin and Grayson Meinert, and Mason Darrach. Friends are invited to visit at the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 W. Sylvania Ave., on Sunday April 8th, 2018 from 2:00 – 6:00pm where a service will begin at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Susan G. Koman Foundation or Tidewell Hospice House, Sarasota, Florida. The family would like to thank all the caring staff at The Doctors Hospital and Tidewell Hospice.
