Thomas R. Kneisley Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Thomas R. Kneisley, 72, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2008, at The Toledo Hospital. He was born May 12, 1936, in Toledo and was the son of Richard and Florence Knisley. Tom was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, Toledo Powersquadron ans served in the National Guard. He played in the band , "The Luthiers" and the Bluegrass Band, "Hand Hewn". Tom also enjoyed fishing and crewing for sail boat races on Lake Erie. He began his working career working for the family business, Kneisley's Electric and retired as an advanced technological project manager for the Engineering Technology Department at the University of Toledo. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Margaret "Midge" Kneisley; daughters, Michelle K. (Larry) Tippie, Meliss M. Logsdon and Megan K. (John) Shanrock; grandchildren, Kyle E. Tippie, Brendon M. Tippie, Michael B. Logsdon, John T. Shanrock, Kristopher C. Shanrock and Kelsey M. Shanrock. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert R. (Josephine) Kneisley and David R. (Sandy) Kneisley. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Linda Rupp and his brother, Garrison "Gary" Kneisley. Friends are invited to visit from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Prayers will begin at 12:30 p.m. Monday from the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Father Dominic Savyo will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
