Velma Graham 83, passed away on Thursday May 22, 2014 in Parkcliffe Community. She was born in Russellville KY., on February 7, 1931 to Rachel and Thomas Washer. She was a graduate of Whitney High School where she and her lifelong friends formed a Bunco group that lasted for years. She was a longtime member of Judson Baptist Church. Velma enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, traveling, and playing board games with her friends and family. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving children; Linda (Dan) Davis, Marcia Johnson, Ronald (Karen) Graham; grandchildren, Jason, Josh (Kristi), Jeff, Jillian (Mike), Amanda (Scott), Zach (Kristen) and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Logan, Breanna, Addison and Audrey and also her sister, Alice Yates. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Billy Graham; siblings, Willard Washer, Darrell Washer, Lorelle Froggee and Wanda Cooper. Her family wishes to extend special thanks to the staffs and caregivers at Senior Independence and Parkcliffe Community especially Kris, Ann, and Jennifer. Friends are invited to visit on Tuesday from 3:00-7:00pm in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 W. Sylvania Ave. where funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 11:00am on Wednesday. Interment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those who wish to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Senior Independence, or Alzheimer’s foundation.
