Vincent R. Richard, 85, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at his home. He was born, June 8, 1923, in Toledo and was the son of Jerome and Helen Richard. Vincent served honorably during World War II, with the Army Air Force. He was an electrical engineer for Schindler Elevator, retiring in 1989. He also was an instructor for Local 8 Apprenticeship Program, for 25 years. Vincent was a lifelong member of Christ the King Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years and was on the finance committee. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge and the Tuesday Morning Senior Golf League at Ottawa Park. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Anna Mae Richard; children, Carolyn (Bill) Miller, Jim Richard and John (Debbie) Richard; grandchildren, Ian Monk, Ross Monk, Shannon Richard and Sean Richard and his sisters, Donna (Jim) Droulliard and Shirley (Van) Sharrit. Friends are invited to visit from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where a scripture service will be at 7:30 p.m. Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the funeral home, followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane. Father Dominic Savyo will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Vincent, may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church.
