William E. Gall, 90, of Toledo, left this world, Monday, August 12, 2013. He was born May 22, 1923 to William F. and Ida Gall in Lakewood, Ohio. A graduate of DeVillbiss High School, he attended Miami University and graduated from the University of Toledo in 1948. He enjoyed a very successful football career throughout high school and college, earning several offers to play professionally after graduation. Bill honorably served his country as a Marine during WWII and the Korean War. Bill married Martha Manton in 1950 and enjoyed 55 years of marriage until she preceded him in death in 2005. He worked at Libbey Owens Ford for more than 30 years until his retirement. Bill enjoyed spending his free time with his buddies at Tamaron Country Club and various bowling lanes, he had 2 holes in one and bowled a 300 game in his late 70's. William is survived by his sons, William J. (Vicky) Gall and Robert J. (Renee) Gall; grandchildren, Lindsay (Brent), B.J., Michael, C.J.; sister in law, Barbara Garwood; niece, Paula Hill; nephews, Tim (Susan) and Michael (Val) Malone and Charles Morse. Friends are invited to visit from 4:00 to 9:00pm Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Ansberg-West Funeral Home 3000 Sylvania Avenue where services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, August 16, 2013. Interment to follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in William's memory may be made to ProMedica Hospice of the charity of the donor's choice.
