Gregoris Morris

Gregoris “Greg” Morris passed away peacefully in the arms of all his girls on March 12, 2010. Greg was born in Toledo on April 23, 1933 to Katherine and Steve Morris. Greg attended Woodward High School. He left Toledo to join the U.S. Navy. He was proud of and loved his time spent in the Navy and was honorably discharched and returned to Toledo. In 1956 he married the love of his life, Barbara J. (DeStella) Morris who survives him. Greg and Barbara were the apple of each other's eye. Together they had two daughters, Christina Ann and Amy Jo. Greg also had a step-daughter Bridget, whom he loved dearly and step-son Robert Goodsite. In his earlier years, Greg was in the bar business. In 1976, Greg and his family moved to Los Angeles, CA where he became a talented car salesman. After 3 years, they returned to Toledo where Greg was employed at George Ballas Buick Inc. until his retirement in November 2008. As a salesman and Assistant Used Car Manager, Greg was the recipient of many high achievement and top sales awards. Greg was the most caring, understanding, loving husband and father that anyone could ask for. His family was the most important thing in his life. He was highly respected by many people not only for the man that he was, but also for his right-on advice so many people asked of him. Greg would do anything for anybody and give you the shirt off his back, even if he needed it more than you did. He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine, father Steve and step-father Tony Pilitaris; brothers Gus (Dino) Morris, Johnny Morris and George Morris. Greg is survived by his daughters Christina A. Kilis of Toledo, Amy Jo Consentino of Stuart Fl., and her husband Robert who's daily phone calls always brought a smile to his face; step-daughter Bridget Huff and her husband Marty of Temperance, MI; grandchildren, Gregory R. Kilis and Holli S. (Andrew) Oess of Maumee, and great-grandchildren Avery and Aiden Oess; brother Pete (Fritzi) Morris, sister Virginia Barlos and many cousins, nieces and nephews who adored him. Greg had many friends that he loved and cherished for over 60 years and the family would like to thank them for all of their support during his illness. You guys really kept him going these last few months and you are Duane Abbajay, Sonny Smith, Jamie Farr and Michael Prephan. Lastly, the family wishes to thank the angels from Hospice of Northwest Ohio (South Detroit Ave.) specifically Greg's out-patient nurse, Megan and his in-patient nurses, Karen and Mary Jo, Social Worker, Becky and his wonderful aid, Earl for all of their excellent care and comfort they gave to Greg and for making our family feel like we were the only family in the world. Friends are invited to visit from 2:00-8:00PM today, Sunday March 14, 2010 in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home where Trisagion Prayers will begin at 8:00PM. Rev. Aristotle Damaskos Officiant.
