Jack Revells

Jack Revells, 83 years young, of Toledo, died very peacefully on Monday morning, May 17, 2010, in the home of his daughter, Marie. He was surrounded by his loving wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandson. Jack was born on March 6, 1927, to Jay and Lucille Revells, who preceded him in death as well as his brother, Bob. Jack married his wife, Mary, the love of his life, on August 28, 1946. Jack worked for the Dura Corporation for 44 years, retiring as the plant superintendent. After his retirement, Jack and his wife, Mary, spent their winters at their home in Avon Park, FL. Jack was an avid Detroit Tiger fan and wore his Tiger hat throughout his illness and never missed watching a game. He was also a staunch Republican. His greatest accomplishment was loving his family and being the greatest husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, anyone could ever have. He loved his family and enjoyed being with them all the time, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be truly missed. Jack is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary; daughter, Marie Dilgart and son-in-law, Bill; granddaughter, Sherri Croley and her husband, Commander Ryan Croley, USN; grandson, Ryan and his girlfriend Leila, great-grandson, Logan and great-granddaughter, Lauren. Also surviving is his brother, Jim (Mary Lou); sister-in-law, Blanche “Bea” Nyers; nephew, Michael Haynes and many other nieces and nephews; special friend, Jane and his Bichon Frise, Kaylee Marie. The family will receive friends from 2-9 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010, at the Ansberg-West Funeral, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010, from the funeral home, followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m., in St. Patrick of Heatherdowns. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ursuline Sisters, 4035 Indian Road, Toledo, OH 43606, or to the charity of the donor's choice. The family would like to extend a special thank you Dr. Mark Fine, who took such wonderful care of Jack, especially during the last year. You are the best doctor in the world.
