Lucille D. Jackowski

Lucille Jackowski, 94, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born to Anthony & Constance Gosik on October 31, 1915. Lucille worked 30 years for Tillotson Manufacturing, retiring in 1979. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and was known for her loving personality, her delectable cheesecake and her good cooking. She also loved gardening, dancing, bowling, sewing, making others laugh and loved being around people. Lucille was a very compassionate, beautiful and caring person ( to know her was to love her). She was a caregiver for many years to those she loved and will be missed greatly. Lucille was a lifetime member of St. Adalbert's Church, attended grade school there, and was married, and baptized there. She went to Woodward High School, and was a member of the Lagrange St. Woman's Business Association, a member of the Salesian Club, the 55 Plus Club, and T.A.P.S. Lucille is survived by her loving daughter Audrey Syroka, and brother, Leonard Gosik; 11 grandchildren, Howard (Sharon) Syroka, Mike (Marcia) Syroka, Dave (Bonnie) Syroka, Richard (Wendy) Syroka, Robert (Debbie) Syroka, Shelley Syroka, Tom (Jaqueline) Syroka (her godson), Paul (Jennifer) Syroka, John (Cindy) Syroka, Bill (Amy) Syroka, Tim (Jennifer) Syroka: 25 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Lucille was proceeded in death by her parents Anthony & Constance Gosik, sister, Dorothy Gosik ( Bielski), husband of 55 years, Ben Jackowski, and son- in-law, Howard Syroka. Family and friends are invited to visit from 2-8 p.m. Monday, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where the Salesain Club will recite the Rosary at 4 p.m. Prayers will begin at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, from the funeral home, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., in St. Adalbert Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family request that donations be sent to the Susan B. Komen, Breast Cancer Foundation, in Lucille's name. A special heartfelt thank you to all who helped in the caring of “Lucy”, especially Dr. Monica Young, the wonderful caregivers of Comfort Keepers, Tammy, Amy and Sarah Jean for the wonderful attention and loved you showed her. And also a special thank you to her neighbors, for watching over her, through the years, she loved you all. May God Bless You, and wrap his loving arms around you.
