Robert L. Patterson

Robert L. Patterson, 92, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017, at the Franciscan Care Center. He was born February 2, 1925, in Toledo and was the son of Edward and Maude Patterson. Bob was the superintendent over the Fiberglass Building, grain elevators and the main post office in Toledo, among many other jobs. He also was the supervisor for the Davis-Bessie Power Plant for 10 years before retiring. Bob was the business agent and last of the founding fathers for the Cement Masons and Plasterers, Local 886 and was the oldest living member and only member to attain 70 years of service. He was also instrumental in setting up a pension plan for the members. Bob also loved his farm and his cats, Callie and Midnight. Survivors include his daughters, Sherry Skaff and Kathy Perry (Gregg) Lomnes; son-in-law, Eugene Counterman; grandchildren, Gene (Nancy) Counterman, Jodee Scannapieco, Dr. Tamme Davis (Dr. Kerry Biermann), Joseph Banks, Jr., Bobbi Banks and Stacy Sommers; great-grandchilden, Randy Burnett, Brandie (Matt) Anderson, Chris Counterman, Allie Scannapieco, Michael Ray Scannapieco, Kendalynn Childs and Chandler Childs; great-great-grandchildren, Nicholas Banks, Brayden Gaines, Buckshot, Bryce Counterman, Butch Burnett, Alexizondra Anderson and Sebastian Anderson. Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Alice Patterson, numerous nieces and nephews, including, Edward Patterson, III. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Patterson; daughters, Robbie Sinclair and Rosalind Counterman; grandson, Geno Counterman; brothers, Edward Patterson II, Mick Patterson and Leonard Patterson and sisters, Lucy Patterson, Grace Holy and Betty Patterson. Friends are invited to visit on Friday from 3-8 p.m., in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, (between Secor and Douglas Roads), where Trisagion Services will be held at 4 p.m. Friends may also visit on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m., at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Cathedral, 3754 Woodley Road, Toledo, OH 43606. Father Michael Shaheen will officiate. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St.George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Cathedral or the Cherry Street Mission. The family would like to thank George Prepham, Eugene Counterman and Rev.
